In a move that signals leadership continuity and a sharpened global mandate, IFGL Refractories Limited has appointed Mukesh Harshadrai Rawal as a Whole-time Director of the company, effectively serving as Director and Chief Executive Officer India for a three-year term from 16 August 2026 to 15 August 2029. The appointment, announced after a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, is subject to the requisite approvals from shareholders and the Central Government. The board confirmed the decision in its meeting held today, underscoring the group’s intent to align top leadership with its expanding footprint in refractories and iron-and-steel ecosystems.
Rawal’s appointment brings a veteran operator’s perspective to IFGL’s India leadership. A Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy by education, he joined the IFGL Group in 1983 and has built a broad career spanning refractories and iron-and-steel industries. At present, he serves as President of Mono Ceramics Inc, the Group’s Material Subsidiary in the United States, and Head – Americas. He will cease to hold those offices from the close of 15 August 2026, as he transitions to this new role in the parent company.
Notably, Rawal is not related to any director of the company and is not debarred from holding office, per the disclosures accompanying the announcement. He is described as a US national of Indian origin, with a deep track record in manufacturing and operations that IFGL hopes to translate into enhanced execution across its India operations. The move positions Rawal to steer the company during a period of growth and integration, leveraging his long-standing familiarity with IFGL’s businesses and international exposure.
