Central Bank of India appoints Rajesh Ranjan as Shareholder Director

Central Bank of India has announced the appointment of Rajesh Ranjan as Shareholder Director on its Board, with effect from August 1, 2026, for a period of three years. The appointment adds an external governance perspective to the bank’s board as it steers through a dynamic financial landscape.

Rajesh Ranjan is a retired IPS officer who holds a Master of Arts degree in English Literature and brings about 36 years of experience spanning law, human resources, fraud risk management, corporate governance, vigilance administration, compliance, and ALM/TF, among other areas. He is currently serving as an Independent Director on the Board of DME Development Limited and has previously held leadership roles as a Director of IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Company Ltd and as Chief Vigilance Officer of GAIL India Ltd.

The bank notes that he is not related to any Directors or KMP of the Bank and that he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by SEBI or any other authority. His broad public-sector governance and risk-management background is expected to contribute to strengthened governance and oversight at the board level as Central Bank of India continues to navigate its strategic priorities.
