Campus Activewear appoints Rakesh Thakur as CFO to steer growth

Campus Activewear Limited has named Rakesh Thakur as Chief Financial Officer, effective August 17, 2026, signaling a strengthening of its financial leadership as the company advances its growth plans. The appointment comes on the back of recommendations from the Nomination & Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee, with the board granting immediate effect to the move. Thakur’s arrival positions Campus Activewear to steer its financial agenda amid an expanding consumer footprint and evolving market dynamics.

Thakur, 49, is a Chartered Accountant with more than two decades of experience across leading consumer and multinational groups. Before joining Campus Activewear, he served as Group Chief Financial Officer of Imagine Marketing Limited (boAt), where he was credited with driving profitable growth, improving EBITDA, tightening cash and working capital management, and strengthening governance — all critical elements for a company eyeing its public-market journey. His career also includes senior finance roles at Hindustan Unilever Limited, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Health, Samsung India and PepsiCo, spanning P&L management, governance, transformation and M&A integration.

Campus Activewear’s leadership lineup, which includes Hari Krishan Aggarwal as Chairman & Managing Director, Nikhil Aggarwal as Whole-time Director & CEO, and Archana Maini as General Counsel & Company Secretary, will now be complemented by Thakur’s CFO-focused remit. The new appointee brings a track record of aligning finance with strategic priorities and governance best practices, qualities many eyes will be watching as the company navigates growth, capital discipline and market expansion in the years ahead.

The move underscores Campus Activewear’s intent to bolster its financial architecture at a time when consumer brands in the space are recalibrating to sustain momentum, fund expansion, and optimize cash flow. Thakur’s experience across consumer and multinational environments could help the company sharpen its strategic execution, financial planning and stakeholder governance as it charts its next phase.
