AKI India Limited bets on governance refresh with new independent directors and reconstituted board committees

AKI India Limited is reshuffling its board and governance structure, announcing the appointment of two new independent directors and the exit of three long-serving non-executive independent directors, all effective 8 April 2026. Hardika Ladha and Nandish Shaileshbhai Jani have been named Additional Non-Executive and Independent Directors, while Sarika Agrawal, Abdul Rashid Khan, and Veqarul Amin have resigned from the board, with the company noting that the resignations are due to personal reasons and that there are no other material factors involved.

In tandem with the fresh appointments, AKI India reconstituted its key board committees. Hardika Ladha has been positioned as Chairperson of the Audit Committee and will also serve as a member and anchor for the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Nandish Shaileshbhai Jani is appointed as a member of both these committees, while Mohammad Ajwad remains the Managing Director and is listed as a member of the Audit Committee. The Nomination and Remuneration Committee now features Hardika Ladha as Chairperson, Nandish Shaileshbhai Jani as a member, and Mohammad Asjad as a member.

The Stakeholder Relationship Committee is likewise reconstituted with Hardika Ladha as Chairperson, Nandish Shaileshbhai Jani as a member, and Mohammad Asjad continuing as a member. The changes suggest AKI India is leaning into a governance refresh, bringing in new independent oversight while consolidating leadership roles on core committees. The resignations, described by the company as personal in nature, accompany a broader board renewal that could shape the company’s strategic and governance trajectory in the coming months.
