Bata India Limited has moved to strengthen its board with the re-appointment of Radha Rajappa as an Independent Director for a three-year term beginning June 9, 2026. The decision, taken by the board on April 15, 2026, follows a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and will be put to shareholders for approval via a postal ballot. The move signals Bata India’s intent to bolster governance with a seasoned technology leader who has steered digital transformation for global clients.
Radha Rajappa brings more than three decades of experience in the information technology sector, having built and scaled digital transformation businesses across global markets. In Mindtree, where she spent 16 years on the executive leadership team, she led the global digital business and steered industry-focused verticals in Retail, CPG and Manufacturing, as well as Travel, Transportation and Hospitality. Earlier in her career, she held roles at IBM India and is also a Certified Executive Coach.
Her appointment aligns with Bata India’s emphasis on digital capabilities and technology-driven growth, reflecting a broader industry shift toward governance guided by technology veterans. The board’s choice underscores the value of independent directors who bring hands-on experience in cloud, AI and digital strategy to help navigate the consumer brand through ongoing transformation.
