In a move signaling continuity in governance, UCO Bank has named Neeraj Daporkar as Chief Compliance Officer, effective 24 April 2026. Daporkar, who currently serves as General Manager, will succeed Ravi Shankar Narayan, who has been assigned a new role within the bank and will cease to hold the CCO post. The transition underscores the lender’s focus on robust compliance as it navigates a rapidly evolving regulatory and digital landscape.
Daporkar brings a formal background rich in information technology and banking fundamentals. He is 47 years old, with a postgraduate degree in Information Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering. He is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB) and holds several IIBF certifications ranging from international trade finance to foreign exchange operations, treasury management, cybercrime prevention, and information system audit, among others. With over 19 years in the banking sector, his experience spans branches, overseas centres, zonal offices, flagship corporate branches, and corporate departments, with notable exposure to overseas operations and core banking functions.
The move also reflects internal succession planning, as Narayan transitions to a new role within the Bank. While he steps down from the CCO position, his continued involvement at UCO Bank signals a commitment to sustained governance and risk oversight during a period of rapid change in the financial services landscape. Together, the changes place a premium on experienced leadership to steer compliance, governance, and risk in an era of heightened regulatory expectations and technological advancement.
