Tata Consumer Products is reshaping its senior leadership, sharpening its focus on in-market execution and strategic transformation. The board has approved the appointment of Sunil Lobo as President & Head – India Sales, a move that will take effect on December 1, 2026. In parallel, Mahesh Israni will retire from his role as Head – Business Integration & Transformation, with his cessation set for January 31, 2027. The changes come in a period of ongoing internal alignment aimed at strengthening go-to-market capabilities while sustaining the company’s broader transformation agenda.
Sunil Lobo brings more than two decades of FMCG leadership to the role, with a history of driving turnarounds and strategic execution across sales and revenue-generation functions. His pedigree spans Balsara, Tata Global Beverages and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, and most recently he has been serving as Chief Operations Officer at Swire Coca-Cola Vietnam, where he has led commercial planning, sales management, RTM, and related capabilities. Lobo holds an executive MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and an MBA from Mumbai University, credentials that underpin a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering in-market results.
Israni’s departure marks the end of a long tenure in a function that sits at the crossroads of integration and transformation, areas Tata Consumer Products has long prioritized as it integrates diverse capabilities across the business. While the company did not detail tenure in this notice, Israni’s retirement on January 31, 2027 closes a chapter as the organization reinforces its leadership in Business Integration & Transformation.
The moves are complemented by an internal shift described in the accompanying annex: Punit Gupta is moving into the position of President & Head – Strategy & Business Transformation, aligning the company’s strategic, transformation and execution priorities under a single leadership umbrella. Taken together, the changes reflect Tata Consumer Products’ intent to strengthen India sales while continuing to push forward on its transformation agenda and strategic priorities.
