DCM Shriram appoints LIC nominee Salil Vishwanath to board, Rabinarayan Mishra to exit

DCM Shriram Limited has announced a leadership change on its board, appointing Salil Vishwanath as a Nominee Director from the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to fill the vacancy created by Rabinarayan Mishra. The appointment is effective from 1 November 2026 or from the date of DIN allotment, whichever is later, and is subject to shareholder approval. Mishra will cease to be a director of the company on that date. Salil Vishwanath’s nomination follows LIC’s transfer of its board representation and reflects LIC’s ongoing role as a key institutional voice in the company’s governance.

The decision comes on the back of guidance from the Nomination, Remuneration and Compensation Committee and underscores the board’s ongoing efforts to refresh governance with experienced nominees. Vishwanath, who currently serves as Executive Director (RTI) at LIC, brings four decades of experience with the state reinsurer, including leadership roles across personnel, marketing, estates, legal, HRD and training, and central office oversight. His appointment is designed to strengthen LIC’s engagement with the company while maintaining governance balance and strategic oversight.

DCM Shriram’s boardroom dynamics are part of a broader set of actions outlined in the same board meeting, including interim dividend declarations and strategic investment plans aimed at capacity expansion and diversification. The company continues to pursue growth avenues while maintaining a governance framework that leverages LIC’s representation at the table. As the new Nominee Director takes a seat, observers will be watching how the board’s composition informs the company’s strategy across its Chemicals, Sugar, Fenesta Building Systems and other business segments.
