SJVN Limited has announced a leadership reshuffle in its senior management, with two officials elevated to Executive Directors as the company continues to widen its leadership bench for strategic project execution, while two long-serving officers are set to superannuate. The changes are aligned with the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and operational oversight across its hydro, thermal and renewable portfolios.
Manmeet Gupta has been promoted to Executive Director. A veteran of SJVN since 1993, his career spans contracts, quality control, commercial disputes across hydro, wind and solar, and key project investigations and implementations. His expanded remit as Executive Director is described as co-terminus with the date of superannuation or until further orders, underscoring a continuity-focused transition as the company reinforces leadership in project governance and execution.
Vikas Sharma has also been appointed Executive Director (Civil), effective 1 August 2026. With over three decades in the power sector, his experience spans mega hydro and thermal infrastructure, tunneling, land requisition, statutory clearances and multi-ministry coordination. His career includes stints with Impregilo, L&T, Gammon and SN Power, as well as leadership roles at Luhri HEP, Rampur HPS and the Buxar Thermal Power Plant, culminating in his current responsibility heading the Sunni Dam HEP as Head of Project. This appointment signals SJVN’s emphasis on civil and infrastructure execution capabilities as it pursues ambitious project pipelines.
Alongside these promotions, Baljeet Singh and Rajesh Kumar Sharma are noted as ceasing to be part of Senior Management due to superannuation, marking a gradual transition of experienced leadership as the company navigates an era of growing scale and complexity within its portfolio.
