In a move aimed at ensuring continuity at the helm, Shipping Corporation of India Limited disclosed that Jaswinder Singh will continue to hold the additional charge of the post of Director (Technical & Offshore Services) for a further period of three months from 1 September 2026, or until the regular incumbent assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earliest. The extension signals SCI’s intent to maintain steady leadership as it navigates a pivotal phase in its technical and offshore strategies.
Singh currently heads the Liner & Passenger Services division and has previously served as Director of Bulk and Tanker businesses. He has also held board roles across SCI’s ecosystem, including SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd, Inland and Coastal Shipping Ltd, and Sethusamudram Corporation Ltd. With a navy career spanning more than three decades—holding senior positions such as Chief of Staff of the Southern Naval Command and receiving the Nau Sena Medal—he brings a blend of maritime practice and strategic oversight to SCI’s executive table. He is also noted for his academic credentials, including an MBA and training from the Naval Postgraduate School in California.
Industry observers say the extension reinforces SCI’s emphasis on continuity in leadership for its technically demanding and commercially critical divisions. Singh’s multi-division exposure—from liner and passenger services to technical and offshore operations—positions him to drive alignment across operations, fleet performance, and strategic partnerships. As the company charts its path through evolving shipping cycles and broader logistics challenges, the decision to bridge with an experienced director underscores the importance of stability at the top while the organization maps its longer-term leadership plan.
