SJVN Limited has welcomed a new member to its board, confirming the appointment of Raman Gharsangi as a Part-Time Official Director (GoHP Nominee) on the company’s Board, effective 14 October 2026 (DIN allotment date). The appointment, announced by SJVN in line with regulatory requirements, marks another step in the ongoing governance alignment between the central and state governments and the public sector enterprise that operates as a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Gharsangi is an officer of the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service, 2017 batch, and presently serves as Joint Secretary (MPP & Power) for the Government of Himachal Pradesh. His academic background includes a postgraduate degree and an M.Phil. in English Literature from Panjab University, Chandigarh, with an earlier undergraduate foundation from Government Post Graduate Degree College, Kullu. In his career with the HP government, he has taken on a broad spectrum of responsibilities—from regional transport and district administration to urban development and public service delivery—holding roles such as Assistant Settlement Officer, Shimla; Regional Transport Officer, Mandi; SDM, Manali and Pangi; and leadership positions in public institutions and city initiatives.
The move positions Gharsangi to contribute to SJVN’s governance at a time when the company continues to navigate its dual accountability to both the central and state governments. As a GoHP nominee, his experience in regulatory administration, personnel management, and public service delivery could shape how the company aligns with state policy and public-interest outcomes while pursuing growth and value creation for shareholders. The appointment underscores the close tempo of collaboration between government bodies and the energy sector in Himachal Pradesh and across the broader public-state enterprise ecosystem.
