Prataap Snacks Limited is reshaping its leadership profile with two distinct moves aimed at strengthening governance and execution. In a move that underscores its commitment to robust oversight, the company announced the appointment of Jitendra Nayyar as an Additional Non-Executive Independent Director for a three-year term starting October 30, 2026, pending shareholder approval. Alongside this, Sumit Sharma will join as an Additional Executive Director for a three-year term from the same date, also subject to shareholder consent. The dual appointments reflect a deliberate balance between independent oversight and strategic executive leadership as the business gears up for its next phase of growth.
Jitendra Nayyar brings a long arc of financial leadership across multiple sectors. A Chartered Accountant with more than three decades of experience, he has held senior finance roles in FMCG and beverages, insurance, fintech, electric mobility, and pharmaceuticals. Most recently, Nayyar served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director at Oister Global, and previously held CFO roles at Acko General Insurance and Aviva Life Insurance India, among others. His background also spans leadership positions at Euler Motors, Zupee, and Acme Solar Holdings, with early stints at PepsiCo India and Coca-Cola India. Nayyar holds an Oxford delay from Said Business School, reflecting a track record of governance, financial discipline, and cross-border experience.
Sumit Sharma, a long-time insider at Prataap Snacks, steps into the role of Additional Executive Director while continuing as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. An ICAI member with over 25 years in finance, accounting, risk management, capital markets, private equity, and general management, Sharma has been with Prataap Snacks for the last 15 years and has played a pivotal role in the company’s IPO, acquisitions, and the implementation of financial processes and SAP systems. His career also includes leadership roles at L&T-CASE Equipment Private Limited. Sharma has been recognized for his contributions with awards such as the Emerging CFO of the Year in the Consumer Products sector from CII and a Merit recognition from L&T. The appointments place Sharma at the helm of financial governance at an inflection point for the company as it pursues expansion and strategic transformation.
