NHPC appoints Paresh Rasiklal Ranpara as Director (Personnel) to bolster HR leadership

NHPC Limited has announced the addition of Paresh Rasiklal Ranpara to its Board as Additional Director and Director (Personnel), with the formal assumption of charge on 30 July 2026. The move underscores NHPC’s focus on strengthening its human capital leadership at a time when the energy sector is navigating rapid shifts in workforce needs, talent development, and organizational transformation.

Ranpara brings a broad, multi-scale HR remit from his extensive career across state and central public sector utilities. His professional journey spans organizations ranging from a few hundred employees to those with tens of thousands, providing him with hands-on experience from grassroots operations to Board-level governance. He has led major recruitment initiatives, helped establish verticals for energy transition and load forecasting, and driven strategic manpower deployment, while championing upskilling and reskilling programs across group companies to align workforce capabilities with evolving business needs. In May 2023, he joined Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India) as Director (HR), where he quickly advanced HR policy reforms, learning and development partnerships, and succession planning to ensure leadership continuity.

Beyond policy and people processes, Ranpara has prioritized employee engagement and organizational development, introducing sustainable engagement initiatives and harmonizing HR policy across group entities to support business priorities. His focus on building capability through partnerships with reputed institutions and his exploration of international capacity-building opportunities reflect a forward-looking approach to human capital in the power sector.

As NHPC continues to evolve in a landscape of rising renewable penetration and transformation, Ranpara’s appointment signals a deliberate push to align talent strategy with long-term business objectives. With a track record in building organizational capabilities, leadership development, and strategic HR governance, NHPC aims to strengthen its people-centric leadership and chart a resilient path for the company’s next phase.
