In a move aimed at strengthening governance and long-term stewardship, Mallcom (India) Limited announced the appointment of Himanshu Rai as a Non-Executive Independent Director for a second term of five years, effective 9 September 2026, subject to shareholders’ approval. The decision was taken at the board meeting held on 30 July 2026 and follows a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
Rai, described as an educationist and academician, has been the Director of the Indian Institute of Management Indore since December 31, 2018. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, he has held academic leadership roles at IIM Lucknow, SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan, Italy, and XLRI Jamshedpur, with a track record in human resource management, leadership, negotiation, strategic HR management, and organizational development.
Mallcom notes that Rai meets independence criteria under the Companies Act and SEBI Listing Regulations, and that he is not debarred from holding board positions. His appointment is expected to bring a governance lens and strategic perspective on people leadership and organizational development to Mallcom’s expansion-driven journey in the industrial-safety space.
The shareholders’ approval process remains, but the fresh governance appointment signals Mallcom’s ongoing emphasis on independent oversight as it pursues growth across domestic and international markets.
