Karnataka Bank Limited has extended the contract of Ratheesh R, its Head-Training in the General Manager cadre, by one year. The extension takes effect from August 17, 2026, ensuring continued leadership at the bank’s Staff Training College as it sharpens its talent development initiatives across the network.
Ratheesh R brings nearly four decades of banking experience to the role. He began his career in 1984 with Corporation Bank and retired as General Manager from Union Bank of India in April 2023. He joined Karnataka Bank on August 17, 2023, in the Staff Training College, initially on a three-year contract.
His professional profile underscores a focus area for the bank: credit portfolio management, MSME and large corporate lending, export credit, risk evaluation, and stressed asset recovery. He also served as faculty assistance for NIBM in Pune, and holds CAIIB plus various Indian Institute of Banking & Finance certifications.
Industry observers note that the extension signals Karnataka Bank’s emphasis on continuity in its training leadership as the bank seeks to bolster internal capability. By retaining a seasoned executive with a track record across major lenders, the bank reinforces its focus on building robust development programs across branches and centers nationwide.
