Indus Towers appoints Abhishek Maheshwari as CFO to strengthen finance leadership

Indus Towers has named Abhishek Maheshwari as Chief Financial Officer, with effect from August 19, 2026, as the board approved the appointment in a recent meeting. Maheshwari steps into the CFO role and will be part of the company’s leadership team, bringing his finance stewardship to the fore as Indus continues to scale its operations and governance framework.

A seasoned finance executive with more than 21 years of experience, Maheshwari currently leads finance for Airtel’s B2B business in the role of CFO. The announcement notes that he has also served as CFO for Airtel Direct to Home (DTH) and has held positions overseeing accounting, financial reporting, taxation, investor relations, and internal controls across Airtel’s Mobile, Telemedia, and DTH segments. His broader background includes a history of senior finance leadership across business planning, budgeting, mergers and acquisitions, and governance frameworks aligned with US GAAP, Indian GAAP, and IFRS.

Maheshwari began his career with Lodha & Company, handling statutory and tax audits and advisory work for large corporates, after earning a Chartered Accountant qualification from ICAI in 2005 following his B.Com Hons. He later moved to Maruti Udyog Limited in budgeting and cost reporting roles. The combination of his cross-vertical finance experience and his track record in complex business environments positions him to guide Indus Towers’ financial strategy as the company navigates growth opportunities in a competitive telecom infrastructure landscape.
