IFB Industries Elevates Internal Leader Arup Das to Executive Director as Leadership Transition Advances

IFB Industries Limited announced that the board has approved the appointment of Arup Das as an Additional Director in the category of Executive Director, effective April 1, 2026. The appointment is described as interim, aligned with the company’s plan to fill the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director position as part of an orderly leadership transition.

Das, aged around 64, holds a B.Sc. from Calcutta University, is an AMIE engineer, and has a PGDBM from IBMR. He brings more than 38 years of experience across marketing, sales, project and general management, and has been with IFB since 1992. Over the years, he has led multiple functions within the Engineering Division—from Heat Treatment to New Product Development, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales—and is currently serving as President–M&A and New Projects.

The move signals IFB’s emphasis on continuity and internal leadership as it progresses with its growth agenda. By elevating a long-tenured, cross-functional executive to an Executive Director role, the company appears to be positioning itself to advance ongoing projects and potential acquisitions while it completes the leadership transition to a new CEO/MD. Das’s deep familiarity with IFB’s operations and his track record across core business functions are likely to be central to steering the company through the next phase.
