Godrej Agrovet taps Ravishankar A. as CFO-designate amid leadership transition as Varadaraj exits

Godrej Agrovet Limited is naming Ravishankar A. as Chief Financial Officer – Designate, initiating a planned leadership handover in the finance function. The board approved the appointment at its August 5, 2026 meeting, with Ravishankar set to assume the role as CFO-designate from September 21 to September 30, 2026, and to become CFO of the company from October 1, 2026. The transition follows the announced early superannuation of S. Varadaraj, who serves as CFO and Head of Finance & Legal, effective at the close of business on September 30, 2026, creating an orderly succession path for the organization’s financial leadership.

Ravishankar A. arrives with more than two decades of finance leadership experience across consumer-facing and global contexts. Most recently, he led Finance for Hindustan Unilever’s Beauty & Wellbeing portfolio as Vice President – Finance, where he partnered with senior leadership on portfolio transformation, M&A, operational excellence, and resource allocation. His prior tenure included roles as Group Finance Controller and Head of Investor Relations at Hindustan Unilever, with a track record of strengthening financial reporting, governance and internal controls, and engaging with the investment community. His career has spanned India, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and he has held board-level responsibilities across multiple Unilever group companies.

The move signals Godrej Agrovet’s proactive succession planning as it readies for a leadership transition in its CFO office. Varadaraj’s anticipated departure at the end of September opens the door for Ravishankar to step into the CFO role from October 1, 2026, aligning with corporate governance expectations and the company’s longer-term financial strategy. Stakeholders will be watching how the new finance chief shapes capital allocation, governance, and stakeholder communication as the group advances its diverse businesses in Animal Nutrition, Vegetable Oil, Dairy, Crop Care, Poultry and processed food, and related ventures.
