Equitas Small Finance Bank appoints Sivaraman K as Head of Operations, Siby Sebastian to lead Strategic Transformation

Equitas Small Finance Bank has announced a leadership move, naming Sivaraman K as Head-Operations and elevating him to Senior Management Personnel, effective September 7, 2026. He will take charge from Siby Sebastian, the erstwhile Head-Operations, as part of an internal role transition. Sebastian will continue as part of the bank’s Senior Management Personnel and will head Strategic Transformation, underscoring continuity in the bank’s strategic agenda.

Sivaraman brings more than 30 years of banking experience and a track record across end-to-end operations, process transformation, regulatory compliance, governance, and operational excellence. Prior to joining Equitas, he served as Senior General Manager & Head – Banking Operations Group at South Indian Bank, where he led a broad nationwide operations function covering branch operations, liabilities and assets operations, payments and settlements, trade finance, reconciliation, currency chest and ATM management, along with a wide range of retail and para-banking support services.

The internal reshuffle signals Equitas’ focus on strengthening core operations while advancing strategic transformation. By appointing an experienced operations leader to head Operations and retaining the outgoing head in a key strategic role, the bank is emphasizing continuity as it navigates growth, regulatory expectations, and the ongoing push toward digital and process excellence.

Taken together, the moves reflect a leadership development approach that blends continuity with fresh momentum in critical back-end functions. With Sivaraman at the helm of Operations and Siby Sebastian guiding Transformation, Equitas Small Finance Bank aims to bolster its operational discipline and strategic execution in a rapidly evolving financial services landscape.
