Divi’s Laboratories Elevates Two Senior Procurement Executives to Senior Management

Divi’s Laboratories Limited is reshaping its internal leadership bench, quietly signaling a sharper focus on procurement and supply-chain excellence. In a board decision dated August 1, 2026, the company approved the appointment of two long-serving executives to Senior Management Personnel roles, effective the same day. The moves, recommended by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, underscore Divi’s intent to bolster its core capabilities in engineering and raw materials purchasing as it continues to scale its manufacturing footprint.

B. Vara Prasad is stepping up as Senior Management Personnel, having previously served as General Manager (Engineering Purchase). With more than three decades in the pharmaceutical industry, Prasad is described as a seasoned supply-chain and procurement leader who has steered capital equipment procurement and the development and commissioning of new manufacturing facilities. His remit has centered on strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and large-scale project delivery—areas that Divi’s aims to deepen as it expands its manufacturing capabilities.

J. Srinivasa Rao will also join Divi’s as Senior Management Personnel, after serving as General Manager (Raw Materials Purchase). Rao brings over 30 years of procurement expertise, including management of domestic and imported raw-material sourcing, annual contracts, and leading sizable procurement teams. He is noted for his cross-functional coordination, regulatory compliance, and the cultivation of a diversified, sustainable supply chain—competencies the company will likely lean on to strengthen reliability and cost discipline across its API, intermediate, and nutraceutical ingredient businesses.

Together, the appointments reflect Divi’s strategic emphasis on internal leadership development to sustain growth. By elevating two veteran procurement leaders to senior management, the company positions itself to sharpen sourcing strategies, streamline operations, and reinforce risk management across its global supply network.
