Thomas Cook (India) Limited disclosed changes to its board following the 49th Annual General Meeting held on September 10, 2026. In a notice to the exchanges, the company confirmed the re-appointment of Sumit Maheshwari as a Non-Executive Director liable to retire by rotation, while Chandran Ratnaswami will not seek re-appointment at the end of his term.
Sumit Maheshwari brings a strong financial and investment background to the board. A Chartered Accountant who began his career with KPMG in India and the UK, he joined Fairbridge Capital in 2011 and has served as Managing Director since May 2018. His role spans sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, executing and exiting investments, as well as monitoring portfolio companies. He has been closely involved in Fairfax’s investments across several companies, including Bangalore Airport, Sanmar Group, CSB Bank, Fairchem Organics, Seven Islands Shipping, Thomas Cook, Quess Corp and Sterling Holiday, among others, and he sits on the boards of many Fairfax portfolio firms.
Chandran Ratnaswami did not seek re-appointment, and shareholders approved the non-re-appointment in line with the board’s recommendations. The development marks a deliberate refresh in the non-executive segment of the board, while Maheshwari’s re-appointment reinforces continuity for governance oversight at a time of strategic evolution for the group.
