Bharat Coking Coal Limited has announced a carefully staged internal reshuffle of senior management, moving executives across mining operations, HR functions, safety, research and development, and project planning. The aim, officials suggest, is to align leadership with key strategic priorities such as the Jharia Master Plan, estate management, and enhanced safety and human resource development across the company’s footprint.
Arvind Kumar Sinha moves from General Manager (Mining) to General Manager (Estate), with a further posting to lead the Jharia Master Plan. Sudhakar Prasad transitions from General Manager (Mining) to General Manager (HRD) and then to General Manager (Estate). Dhanraj Akhare shifts from General Manager (Mining) to General Manager (Safety & Rescue) and then to General Manager (CMC). Tuneshwar Paswan, currently with Mining, will be posted to R&D and NI Department and will become a senior management performer on assumption of charge. Arpan Ghosh moves from General Manager (HR) to General Manager (MP&R) and will take on additional charge of General Manager (HRD) as well. Bikram Kumar transitions from Chief Manager (Mining) to Head of Department (CMC) and becomes Additional General Manager for the Kusunda Area, with the note that he will cease to be senior management on release from his present assignment.
The company emphasizes that these changes will take effect from the date of actual release from current roles and upon assumption of charge at the new postings. In an era of ongoing capacity building and asset optimization, BCCL’s leadership realignment signals an intent to bolster project planning, safety oversight, and human capital development across its operations, while preserving continuity through internal mobility and cross-functional exposure.
