The appointment signals a reinforcement of independent governance at the company, with Khaitan having held leadership and advisory roles across industry bodies such as PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, FICCI, ASSOCHAM and governance-related activities within the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) networks. The move is subject to member approval and will run from September 4, 2026 to September 3, 2031.
