Punjab National Bank announced a leadership transition in its senior management, marking the retirement of Nitil Pandya, who served as General Manager of the Group Business Management Division at the Head Office. Pandya’s departure comes as he superannuates, with his office being vacated on 31 August 2026, paving the way for an internal succession in the bank’s Group Business Management wing.
Effective 1 September 2026, Vijay Kumar will assume the role of General Manager (In-charge), Group Business Management Division, Head Office. Kumar previously held the post of General Manager, Group Business Management Division, Head Office, and will now oversee the division in an in-charge capacity. He is a Bachelor of Commerce and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB), with over 35 years of banking experience, underscoring a long track record in the bank’s core business operations.
The internal move signals continuity and a steady hand at the helm of a pivotal division that coordinates group-wide business management activities. As PNB navigates a period of leadership grooming and operational alignment, Kumar’s extended tenure in the same division could help sustain momentum in strategic initiatives, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration across business lines. The bank did not indicate any external appointments, underscoring its emphasis on internal leadership development and seamless succession within its governance framework.
