Kirloskar Industries appoints Sandeep Gokhale as Independent Director to bolster board oversight

Kirloskar Industries Limited has named Sandeep Gokhale as an Independent Non-Executive Director, with effect from September 1, 2026, for a five-year term until August 31, 2031. The appointment, approved by the board on August 12, 2026, is subject to the shareholders’ approval. The move signals Kirloskar Industries’ intent to bolster board oversight with a seasoned strategist who has steered complex growth initiatives across multiple sectors.

Mr. Gokhale, 64, brings a blend of engineering, finance and strategic leadership to the table. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and an MBA in Finance, and is currently an Advisor to the JSW Group, where he has also served as a director on several group companies. His career spans stints at Siemens Limited, ICICI’s project-financing division, and Sterlite Industries (Vedanta), culminating in a long tenure as Group President – Business Development at JSW Group from 2009 to 2022, where he led asset valuations, joint ventures and project-financing efforts across natural resources, infrastructure and real estate.

Disclosures accompanying the appointment note that Gokhale is not related to any Kirloskar director and is not debarred from holding office by SEBI or other authorities. In the broader strategic arc for Kirloskar Industries, his background in capital formation, asset valuation and government-facing governance could help sharpen the company’s growth play across its diversified portfolio, including real estate and iron-casting ventures. The post is contingent on member approval via postal ballot, a reminder that governance and shareholder votes remain central to leadership moves at a time of rapid expansion.
