Manish Mehta appointed Chief Business Officer at SBI Funds Management

In a move aligned with its growth ambitions, SBI Funds Management Limited said on August 5, 2026 that Manish Mehta has been identified as Senior Management Personnel, effective immediately, following his appointment as Chief Business Officer. The decision signals the company’s intent to bolster its business development, distribution reach, and digital-experience capabilities as it navigates a rapidly evolving asset-management landscape.

Mehta brings more than three decades of experience in the BFSI sector, with a track record spanning business development, strategic planning, partnerships, marketing, and digital transformation. He most recently co-founded Cap Alpha Investment Managers Private Limited, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from September 2025 to August 2026. Earlier stints include leadership roles at Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company, where he led sales, marketing and digital initiatives, and at Kotak Mahindra Inc., where he held multiple executive posts. His career also features senior roles in sales at AIG Investments India and Kotak Mahindra Asset Management, underscoring a deep specialization in building distribution and customer acquisition engines.

Together with SBI Funds Management’s strategic priorities, Mehta’s breadth of experience in business development, digital channels, and customer-centric marketing positions him to drive growth across the firm’s product suites and distribution networks. The appointment is expected to sharpen the firm’s go-to-market capabilities, enhance partnerships, and accelerate digital initiatives that connect investors with SBI’s offerings at a time when asset-gathering and client engagement are increasingly driven by integrated, omnichannel experiences.

As the company continues to sharpen its leadership bench, Mehta’s blend of founder-CEO insights and executive-level sales and marketing leadership could help SBI Funds Management translate strategic objectives into expanded market presence and differentiated client outcomes. He assumed the role of Chief Business Officer on August 5, 2026, marking a notable milestone in SBI Funds Management’s leadership narrative.
