Indian Bank has announced an internal leadership reshuffle, elevating two senior executives to Chief General Manager roles. Himanshu Kansal, who has been serving as General Manager for the Credit Monitoring Cell (CMC) and Recovery, will take on the position of Chief General Manager for CMC & Recovery. Kansal brings a robust background to the expanded role, including engineering training, a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance Management, diplomas in International Banking & Finance and Treasury Investment & Risk Management, and CAIIB certification, with more than three decades of banking experience underpinning his leadership stint.
Deepak Gupta, presently Chief General Manager for Corporate Credit, will assume the post of Chief General Manager for Corporate Credit and Mid Corporate Credit. Gupta holds an MBA and a B.Com degree along with CAIIB, and likewise brings over 31 years of banking experience that underscores his broad-based expertise across corporate credit channels.
The changes in assignment are effective from August 1, 2026. In reshaping the senior leadership line, Indian Bank signals a continued focus on strengthening credit stewardship and recovery operations, while also reinforcing its capacity to manage mid-sized corporate lending alongside flagship corporate credit activities. The moves reflect an intent to deepen institutional strength and continuity in areas central to the bank’s growth and risk management framework.
