Electrotherm (India) Limited moved to reinforce governance and operational leadership with two parallel appointments disclosed after its board meeting on 20 July 2026. The Board approved the appointment of Raj Kumar Bansal as an Additional Director in the category of Non-Executive Independent Director, for a five-year term from 20 July 2026 to 19 July 2031 (till the date of the next Annual General Meeting). Alongside this, the Board also approved Harish Mukati as an Additional Director and Whole Time Director & Chief Executive Officer, effective 20 July 2026, with the WTD tenure spanning three years (to 19 July 2029) subject to shareholder approval.
Raj Kumar Bansal arrives with a long track record in banking and asset reconstruction, holding leadership roles such as MD & CEO of Edelweiss Asset Reconstruction Ltd. and President of Edelweiss Financial Services Limited, among other senior positions in the financial sector. The appointment is positioned as a strengthening of Electrotherm’s governance framework through independent oversight and diverse strategic insight at the board level.
Harish Mukati, who has been serving as CEO of the Steel Division since November 2024, is being elevated to a broader leadership mandate as an Additional Director and WTD & CEO. A civil and structural engineer by training (National Institute of Technology, Bhopal) with executive management education from IIM-Ahmedabad, Mukati brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic planning and operations within engineering and steel industries. The move signals Electrotherm’s continued focus on steering its steel business through a cohesive executive-led push while ensuring alignment with broader board direction.
Together, the appointments underscore Electrotherm’s emphasis on blending independent governance with strong operational leadership as it pursues its strategic roadmap. While Harish Mukati’s WTD appointment requires member approval, the combined leadership changes position the company to navigate growth opportunities across its steel and related businesses with a renewed governance lens and execution focus.
