Suprajit Engineering Limited disclosed that its board has proposed the appointment of Steffen Berns as a Non-Executive Independent Director for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2027, pending shareholder approval. The move places a seasoned industry veteran on the company’s governance table as it charts its next phase of growth in the automotive components space.
Steffen Berns brings more than three decades of senior leadership experience from the Bosch Group, with a background that spans technology, engineering, sales, IT, human resources, and general management. He was the founding President of Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions in India in 1998 and later served as Managing Director of Bosch Limited and President of Bosch India/SAARC from 2013 to 2016. His career also includes board-level stints across several Bosch Group companies and a role on the National Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Educationally, Berns holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, after studying at Darmstadt Technical University and RWTH Aachen University in Germany. The company notes that he is not related to any director on its board, and his appointment follows disclosures confirming he is not debarred from holding office by SEBI or other authorities.
The appointment underscores Suprajit’s intent to augment its board with global governance experience and engineering leadership, aligning with the group’s push into advanced automotive technologies and international markets.
