SKF India (Industrial) Limited said it intends to elevate Sujeeth Pai from Whole-Time Director to Managing Director, with effect from 1 September 2026, subject to shareholder approval. The move follows the resignation of the current Managing Director, Mukund Vasudevan, who stepped down due to an internal role change within the SKF Group.
Pai’s appointment is anchored in a profile that spans mechanical engineering (P.E.S.I.T., Bangalore) and an MBA from ISB, Hyderabad, with about two decades of cross-functional leadership driving growth across regions. He has served as a Whole-Time Director and has been credited with steering multi-dimensional growth and profitability while strengthening partnerships and customer delivery. He is not related to other directors or key management personnel at SKF India.
Under the five-year term, Pai will lead the company as MD, ensuring continuity as SKF India charts its next phase of expansion. The board will seek the necessary shareholder approvals within three months of his appointment, and his transition will take effect from 1 September 2026 after the cessation of his current role as Whole-Time Director on 31 August 2026.
Industry observers see the internal elevation as a signal of SKF’s commitment to leadership continuity, as the Pune-based unit continues to navigate an evolving industrial landscape and a push toward higher efficiency, digitalization, and growth in India’s manufacturing corridor.
