SG Finserve appoints Alok Bhushan as Internal Auditor as Mishra steps down; leadership reshuffle accompanies growth bets

In a move that underlines SG Finserve Limited’s push to tighten governance while expanding its growth playbook, the company disclosed leadership changes alongside strategic portfolio moves from its board meeting on October 16, 2026. The standout leadership shift is the appointment of Alok Bhushan as Internal Auditor, effective October 17, 2026, following the decision to replace the incumbent Head – Internal Audit, Saurabh Mishra, who will step down by the close of business on October 16, 2026 to pursue other responsibilities within the organization. The changes mark a deliberate refresh of the company’s risk and controls framework as it accelerates its broader diversification agenda.

Bhushan arrives as a banking veteran with more than three decades in the financial services sector, including senior stints at State Bank of India and Bank of Baroda. The company notes his deep exposure to corporate banking, credit appraisal, risk management, stressed-asset resolution, regulatory compliance and operations—expertise that SG Finserve appears to be prioritizing to strengthen internal controls and governance as it scales its NBFC footprint and related ventures.

Beyond the internal-audit reshuffle, SG Finserve advanced several strategic bets. It approved the acquisition of 24.5% equity in SG Enterprise Solutions Private Limited from SG Green Buildings Private Limited, with the target entity expected to become an associate of the company. It also greenlit a 15.5% stake in Succesship Technologies Private Limited to bolster in-house AI and digital capabilities for supply chain financing and digital lending. The board has authorized an investment plan of up to USD 5 million (roughly ₹48 crore) to set up a finance company in GIFT City as a wholly owned subsidiary, subject to regulatory approvals, and has delegated the Finance Committee with the authority to carry out necessary actions and formalities.

Additionally, SG Finserve highlighted that two wholly owned subsidiaries—SG Insurance Brokers Limited and SG Alternative Investment Fund Limited—have been incorporated in the current quarter, signaling a broader push into in-house service and investment platforms. Taken together, the leadership refresh and strategic investments portray a company charting a course toward stronger risk management while pursuing an ambitious expansion agenda that spans insurance broking, alternative investments, and AI-enabled financial services.
