Bharat Dynamics Limited has brought in Prakash Rajpurohit as a Part-Time Official Director (Government Director) on its board, effective September 17, 2026, taking over from Meera Mohanty. The move reinforces government representation on the board of the defence electronics maker, aligning with the company’s status as a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence.
Rajpurohit, an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2010 batch from the Rajasthan cadre, holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi. He is currently posted as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence Production in the Ministry of Defence. His career spans stints in the Department of Economic Affairs (Ministry of Finance), where he handled matters related to international investment treaties, and senior leadership roles in Rajasthan’s administrative machinery, including district administration and regulatory departments.
As a Part-Time Official Director, Rajpurohit’s governance perspective could help bridge policy contours with the company’s strategy in the defence ecosystem. His background in defence production policy and economic affairs signals a potential to influence procurement, policy alignment, and collaboration with government channels. The appointment, made on the authority of the Ministry of Defence, underscores ongoing governance arrangements aimed at keeping BDL’s objectives in step with national defence priorities.
