Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has announced internal leadership moves, elevating two senior managers to Executive Director, a senior leadership tier just below the board, effective 1 April 2026. The moves reflect Power Grid’s ongoing emphasis on strengthening governance, project execution, and strategic coordination across its vast transmission and distribution network.
Gyaneshwar Prasad Payasi, currently Executive Director (CMD-Coordination Cell), has been promoted to Executive Director. With more than three decades in Power Grid’s leadership ranks, Payasi has steered asset management, project management, telecom and IT functions, and has played a pivotal role in asset monetization and transmission-line programs that support evacuating power from remote locations. He holds a BE, an ME from IIT Roorkee, and a PGDM from MDI Gurgaon, underscoring a blend of technical and managerial credentials that Power Grid courts for high-impact governance.
Pradeep Kumar, promoted to Executive Director (CTDS-AP), brings nearly thirty years of experience across asset management, substation maintenance and related consultancy assignments. An Electrical Engineering graduate from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra, Kumar joined Power Grid as an Executive Trainee in 1994 and has since earned a management qualification. He currently heads the Government of India program in Arunachal Pradesh—the Comprehensive Scheme for Strengthening of Transmission & Distribution Systems—demonstrating a track record of steering strategically significant projects.
Together, the promotions signal Power Grid’s intent to deepen leadership depth in core corridors of its business—coordination, asset and project management, and government-aligned transmission initiatives—while reinforcing continuity in a company whose backbone is its reliability and execution capability.
