Orient Electric Limited has appointed Deepankar Bhattacharjee as Head – Internal Audit and designated him as Senior Management Personnel, effective September 10, 2026. The move follows a recommendation from the Nomination & Remuneration Committee and approvals by the board to fill the role, underscoring the company’s focus on strengthening governance and risk oversight.
Mr. Bhattacharjee is a Chartered Accountant with more than 15 years of post-qualification experience spanning internal audit, risk-based control design and testing, compliance assurance, business process reviews, risk assessment, investigations, SOP implementation, and agreed-upon procedures. He most recently served as Regional Head, Internal Audit & Assurance (North) at Indus Towers Limited, bringing with him a track record from a string of notable names in the sector. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade at Schneider Electric where his last assignment was Internal Control Head for the Greater India Zone, and he has held internal audit roles at Apollo Tyres Limited and Deloitte.
The appointment reflects Orient Electric’s continued emphasis on robust internal controls and risk management as it strengthens its leadership team. By tapping Bhattacharjee’s breadth of experience across telecom and electricals, the company signals a strategic focus on governance, process integrity, and proactive assurance across its operations.
