NHPC appoints Bernadette Lyngdoh as Independent Director to strengthen board governance

NHPC Limited has announced the appointment of Bernadette Lyngdoh as an Independent Director on its Board, effective 24 July 2026. The appointment, for a three-year term or until further orders, underscores NHPC’s ongoing effort to refresh governance with seasoned professionals from outside the executive cadre and to strengthen board-level oversight and strategic direction. The move comes as the company continues to align its governance practices with best-in-class standards while expanding its leadership bench.

Lyngdoh brings more than two decades of experience spanning corporate leadership, academia, and organizational development. She currently serves as Head – HR & Corporate Affairs at Caliche, where she leads the organization’s human capital strategy, stakeholder engagement, and governance-support initiatives. Her doctoral work from The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, focuses on communicative skills within customer service and the international marketplace, enabling her to weave strategic communication, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness into her practice. This background positions her to contribute to NHPC’s governance, culture, and people-centric leadership ethos.

Known for a people-centric leadership approach, Lyngdoh has built a profile around inclusive workplaces, strong organizational culture, and collaborative engagement—assets that can bolster NHPC’s governance practices and long-term resilience.
