National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) has announced a senior management reshuffle that quietly reinforces an internal succession path. J. Ramesh will cease to be Executive Director (F&A) with effect from 1 September 2026, following his superannuation on 31 August 2026. In another move, Tarun Kumar Batra, currently Chief General Manager and Bathinda Unit Head, has been promoted to Executive Director effective 1 September 2026. The changes underscore NFL’s ongoing emphasis on continuity and internal leadership development within its executive ranks.
Tarun Kumar Batra is a chemical engineer with a long tenure at NFL spanning nearly four decades. Since joining in 1988 as a Management Trainee, he has held a series of increasingly senior roles across NFL’s Nangal, Vijapur and Bathinda units. He brings hands-on experience in ammonia-urea plant operations, commissioning, plant stabilization, maintenance, projects, energy optimisation and overall unit management. His appointment follows a track record of driving major plant revamps and efficiency initiatives, and he has served on deputation with RFCL, contributing to stabilisation of a newly commissioned fertiliser complex. Batra holds a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from IIT/NIT Durgapur and an MBA in Finance.
