MRPL has announced the appointment of three non-official directors to its board for a term of three years, with effect from the date of communication or until further order, following approval from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The move underlines MRPL’s ongoing emphasis on strengthening governance and independent oversight at the helm of the government-owned refinery and petrochemicals group.
Lakhan Chandra Mardi joins as an Independent Director. A political science and law graduate, Mardi practises at the Jharkhand High Court in Ranchi and has served as a member of the T.P.P. Committee for the Government of Jharkhand, bringing a legal and policy perspective to the board.
Sharwan Singh Karawasra and Vipin Malviya are the other Independent Directors named to MRPL’s board. Karawasra, an engineer by training, is the founder and director of Career Line Coaching Institute, adding entrepreneurial insight and governance experience to the panel. Vipin Malviya holds commerce and law degrees and works as an advocate and tax consultant; he is the proprietor of B. M. Malviya & Co., contributing professional expertise in legal and financial advisory matters.
Together, the new appointments reinforce MRPL’s drive for strengthened oversight and broader governance perspectives among its non-executive directors, aligning with best practices for listed and government-owned enterprises.
