Life Insurance Corporation of India has elevated Mukesh Chandra Joshi to Senior Management Personnel, naming him Additional Zonal Manager for the North Central Zone, Kanpur. The internal promotion underscores LIC’s emphasis on strengthening its distribution leadership as the lender continues to invest in its Bancassurance and alternate channels framework from the front lines to the regional hubs.
Joshi’s three-decade-long arc at LIC spans a broad spectrum of administrative and marketing leadership. He joined the corporation in 1992 as an Assistant Administrative Officer and has since steered roles across Central, North Central, Northern and Western Zones. His track record includes stints as Marketing Manager of the Ajmer Division, Senior Divisional Manager in Nagpur and Lucknow, and Regional Manager for Pension & Group Schemes in the Central Zone. Most recently, he served as Chief (Bancassurance & Alternate Channels) at LIC’s Central Office in Mumbai before this elevation.
Analysts say the move signals LIC’s intent to solidify its bancassurance and alternate-channel growth in the North Central region, leveraging Joshi’s cross-zone experience to harmonize LIC’s distribution and service reach. By elevating a long-tenured internal leader to a higher SMP role in Kanpur, LIC appears to be reinforcing continuity in its strategic push to deepen market penetration and channel diversification across key zones.
