LIC has elevated Jayasree Gopinathan to a Senior Management Personnel role, naming her Additional Director at the Zonal Training Centre in Pune, as part of its ongoing leadership development. The move underscores LIC’s focus on strengthening its training and operational capabilities from the ground up as it expands its reach across zones.
Jayasree Gopinathan joined LIC in 1992 as an Assistant Administrative Officer. She holds a B.Tech degree from College of Engineering, Trivandrum, and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India. In a career spanning over three decades, she has held a wide range of administrative roles across Branch, Divisional, Zonal and Central Offices, with experience in customer relationship management, legal, accounts and New Business operations. Prior to her latest appointment, she was Chief (New Business & Re-insurance/Health Insurance) at the Central Office, Mumbai.
Her elevation into an SMP role via the Additional Director post signals LIC’s intent to consolidate leadership capable of steering core training and development functions. Pune’s Zonal Training Centre will likely benefit from her cross-functional exposure and long-standing institutional knowledge as LIC continues to groom its leadership pipeline.
This internal mobility mirrors LIC’s broader emphasis on nurturing talent from within and advancing senior managers into roles that blend oversight with hands-on expertise across the company’s sprawling operations.
