IFGL Refractories Limited disclosed that its Nomination and Remuneration Committee recommended Mukesh Harshadrai Rawal for the board, and the Board approved the appointment as an Additional Director and Non-Executive Non-Independent Director on 21 April 2026. Following this, the company signaled that Mr Rawal is also proposed to be appointed as Whole-time Director and Chief Executive Officer, with effect from 16 August 2026, subject to requisite approvals including those of shareholders and the Central Government. The move is described as a path to align leadership with IFGL’s expanding footprint and long-term growth strategy.
Rawal is a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy, a US citizen of Indian origin, and currently serves as President of Mono Ceramics Inc., the IFGL Group’s material subsidiary in the United States, as well as Head of IFGL Group – Americas. He joined the IFGL Group in 1983 and is noted for his extensive experience across refractories and iron-and-steel sectors. He will cease to hold the office of President of Mono Ceramics Inc. from close of business on 15 August 2026.
The announcement underlines IFGL’s intent to place seasoned leadership at the helm as it pursues global expansion, while underscoring that the appointment is contingent on approvals from shareholders and the Central Government.
