Godrej Properties Limited has announced changes in its senior management, signaling a strategic recalibration of its sales and growth engine. Lalit Makhijani will step down from his role as Chief Sales, Marketing and Customer Centricity Officer at the close of business on June 30, 2026. In the same announcement, Subhasish Pattanaik, currently Zonal CEO – West East, is appointed to succeed him as Chief Sales, Marketing and Customer Centricity Officer, effective July 1, 2026. Mayank Poddar, who has been Head – Strategic Initiatives, will take over as Zonal CEO – West East from July 1, 2026.
Pattanaik has been a fixture on GPL’s Management Committee, credited with strengthening the West East zone’s execution and building a robust project pipeline through focused business development and JV partnerships. Under his leadership, Pune has emerged as a market-leading hub for the company, and his team achieved notable milestones including a 50% gender-balanced team within GPL. His long tenure at GPL, starting in 2008 across roles in NCR, South Zone, and Sales & Marketing, underpins a continuity-focused transition for the group.
Podar’s elevation to Zonal CEO – West East follows his track record in steering strategic initiatives, with 16 years of experience and an MBA from IIM Calcutta. In his current role, he led quality transformation, CoC acceleration programs, BRM, and labor initiatives. The move places him in a role that aligns execution with West East’s growth ambitions, leveraging his strategic perspective to scale GPL’s development and delivery across master planning-to-delivery cycles.
