Gland Pharma reshapes its board as Wenjie Zhang resigns and Xingli Wang joins as Additional Director

Gland Pharma Limited’s board convened on October 1, 2026, and in a move signaling a refresh of its governance, accepted the resignation of Wenjie Zhang, a Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director, and welcomed Xingli Wang as an Additional Director. The changes come as the company continues to pursue its strategic expansion, including a USD 21 million investment in Gland USA to support a new affiliate and partnerships in the United States.

Xingli Wang, aged 63, is currently President of Fosun Pharma and has held senior roles including Chief Executive Officer of the Global R&D Center and Chief Executive Officer of the innovative medicine division at Fosun Pharma, as well as a Non-Executive Director at Shanghai Henlius. He will join Gland Pharma as an Additional Director (Non-Executive & Non-Independent); formal approval from shareholders will be sought through the standard postal ballot and e-voting process.

Wenjie Zhang’s resignation took effect immediately; his letter thanked the board for support during his tenure. The company did not indicate specific next steps beyond the ongoing governance transition.

The board also realigned its committees to reflect the evolving composition, signaling a governance refresh alongside strategic expansion plans such as the USD 21 million investment in Gland USA to support a 60% stake in Novelstar Pharma Inc. in the United States.
