Emkay Global Financial Services has named Nikhil Sharma as Chief Information and Security Officer, a move aimed at strengthening the company’s cyber defense framework. The appointment takes effect on September 8, 2026, and aligns with the board’s focus on reinforcing information security governance across the group. Sharma steps into a role that places him at the helm of Emkay’s information security strategy as the firm sharpens its digital capabilities.
Sharma brings more than 12 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security governance and regulatory compliance within the BFSI sector. He is credited with building security architectures and robust risk programs, with a noted track record of zero audit observations and a certification as ISO 27001:2022 Lead Auditor. Before joining Emkay Group, he was associated with Jio BlackRock Asset Management, DSP Asset Managers, Aegon Life Insurance, J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley, among others.
This appointment places Sharma in a key leadership position within Emkay’s senior management, charged with steering information security policy, governance and incident response as the company expands its digital footprint. His cross-sector experience spanning asset management, life insurance and investment banking brings a broad perspective to protecting customer data and meeting evolving compliance expectations.
Industry observers say such executive moves underscore a clear commitment to cyber resilience at a time when financial services firms face sophisticated threats and heightened scrutiny. Sharma’s leadership is expected to translate strategy into tangible security outcomes for Emkay’s clients and stakeholders, fortifying trust in the firm’s digital-first ambitions.
