Chambal Fertilizers extends Independent Director Rita Menon’s tenure to 2030

Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited has extended the tenure of one of its independent voices at the boardroom table. At the Forty-First Annual General Meeting held on September 1, 2026, shareholders approved the continuation of Rita Menon as an Independent Director through the end of her current term, up to September 9, 2030. The move reinforces governance continuity as the company navigates a competitive fertilizer landscape.

Rita Menon brings a long arc of public service and policy experience to the board. An MA in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, she joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1975 and went on to hold a string of senior positions in both the central government and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. She retired in 2015 after serving as the Chairperson and Managing Director of the India Trade Promotion Organisation, a tenure that underscored her expertise in industrial development, town planning, finance, health, and public policy.

The company notes that Ms. Menon is not a relative of any director and is not debarred from holding office by any regulatory authority, underscoring the independence of her continued stewardship. Her breadth of experience across policy, governance, and public sector administration is positioned to inform Chambal Fertilizers’ strategic direction as it pursues growth in a complex market.

In a period of boardroom stability, Chambal Fertilizers’ decision to extend Ms. Menon’s tenure signals confidence in the value of steady oversight and informed governance. As the company advances its long-term agenda, her continued presence on the board is framed as a strategic asset for navigating regulatory, economic, and industry challenges with an experienced, independent perspective.
