Blue Star Limited adds independent director Nikhilesh Panchal to its board

Blue Star Limited has taken a governance step aimed at strengthening its board with an independent perspective. The company said the Board approved the appointment of Nikhilesh Panchal as an Independent Director for a five-year term starting August 14, 2026, subject to the approval of the shareholders. The appointment follows recommendations from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and was finalized at the Board meeting held on August 6, 2026. The company will seek shareholder consent for the appointment in due course.

Nikhilesh Panchal brings more than three decades of legal and corporate experience to the board. He is a practicing lawyer and is registered as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa, as a Solicitor with the Bombay Incorporated Law Society and the Law Society of England & Wales, and as a Patent and Trademark Attorney. Since 2005 he has been a partner at Khaitan & Co, after previously serving as a partner at Little & Co. His practice covers corporate and commercial laws, including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, takeovers, buybacks, delisting and capital reduction, as well as foreign collaborations, technology transfers and disputes involving intellectual property. He also has experience with matters connected to FEMA.

Mr. Panchal is not related to any other director of the company, and is not debarred from holding office by any SEBI order or other authority. His appointment underscores Blue Star’s emphasis on robust governance and independent oversight as it pursues its growth and strategy in a dynamic market.
