Berger Paints India Limited’s board has signaled a refreshed leadership slate, approving the appointment of Navjeet Singh Sobti as an Independent Director for a five-year term beginning 1 September 2026 and Amardeep Jain as a Whole-time Director for the same period, both subject to shareholder consent via postal ballot.
Sobti, a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, is described as a seasoned business leader with broad experience in business development, start-ups, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions. He is not debarred from holding office and will serve as a non-executive, independent director not liable to retirement by rotation.
Jain, a chemical engineer from IIT Delhi, brings two decades of experience in the paint and process industry, including large scale manufacturing process optimization, project execution and organizational building. He has previously served as Plant Head at a major paint manufacturer and will join Berger Paints as a Whole-time Director, liable to retirement by rotation.
The board also announced a postal ballot process to obtain shareholders consent for these appointments. The announcements were made after a brief board meeting that ran from 3:15 pm to 3:45 pm.
