Ashish Kumar Khetan named Independent Director on Hindustan Copper Board

Hindustan Copper Limited has named Ashish Kumar Khetan as an Additional Director – Part Time Non-Official (Independent) on its Board, with effect from 14 August 2026 and continuing until the date of the company’s ensuing Annual General Meeting. The move follows the Board’s approval by circulation, signaling a governance refresh aimed at reinforcing independent oversight as the copper producer steers through a market that prizes transparency and strategic governance.

Khetan arrives with a robust background in taxation, audit and finance, built over 27 years. He is currently a Senior Partner at Ashish Khetan & Co. (Chartered Accountants) in Korba, Chhattisgarh, and also maintains active involvement with professional and regional governance bodies. His wide-ranging experience in governance, education and administration positions him to contribute a seasoned, independent voice to Hindustan Copper’s Board.

HCL notes that Khetan is not related to any board members or key managerial personnel, and has no SEBI-related or other disqualification barring him from serving as a director. The appointment underscores the company’s emphasis on independent oversight as it pursues strategic objectives in a dynamic metals landscape, combining financial acumen with governance prudence.

As Hindustan Copper continues to evolve its leadership toolkit, Khetan’s addition is positioned to inform risk management, regulatory compliance and stakeholder accountability from the Boardroom. The arrangement, designated as a part-time independent role, aligns with the industry’s appetite for experienced outsiders who can provide objective judgment while integrating with the company’s long-term agenda.
