Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABD) is moving to deepen its leadership bench with the appointment of Amar Sinha as Managing Director – Designate, effective April 2, 2026. The Board approved the leadership shift as part of a planned transition, with current MD Alok Gupta nearing the end of his tenure. ABD, which describes itself as India’s largest domestic spirits company by volume, says the move aligns with its strategy to sustain value creation and long-term growth while ensuring a seamless handover at the top.
Amar Sinha arrives with more than three decades of leadership across the alco-beverage and consumer sectors. His career spans top roles including Chief Operating Officer at Radico Khaitan, Managing Director at Whyte & Mackay India, and executive stints at Herbertsons (UB Group) and other consumer brands. He has been recognized with multiple honors for leadership excellence, including the Rajeev Gandhi Excellence Award (Most Enterprising CEO of the Year, 2015), the Make in India Excellence Award (2016), and Business Leader of the Year at the IndSpirit Awards (2023). ABD notes that his experience covers sales, marketing, brand building, operational scale-up, and organizational transformation across diverse consumer categories.
ABD’s Non-Executive Chairman Kishore Chhabria welcomed Amar Sinha, underscoring confidence in his ability to build on the company’s momentum and lead the next phase of growth.
