In Kolkata on 5 November 2026, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited’s board approved the reappointment of Udyavar Vittal Kamath as Executive Director for a further one-year term from 1 February 2027, subject to the approval of shareholders. Kamath, an electrical engineering graduate and founder of Bright Power Projects (India) Private Limited, brings more than 30 years of experience in railway electrification and related electrical engineering services. He has been with the company for over nine years, contributing to growth in the railway business, including track laying and S&T operations.
The board also cleared the unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and half-year ended 30 September 2026. Standalone revenue from operations stood at 86,310.26 lakh with total income of 87,775.57 lakh. The company also announced the grant of 10,32,780 LTIP options for eligible employees under Texmaco Rail Long Term Incentive Plan 2026, with a recognized expense of 164.32 lakh under Ind AS 102. It noted that Texmaco Touax Railcar Leasing Private Limited issued equity to a new investor, diluting the group’s stake in the JV from 50% to 34% on a fully diluted basis, leading to a gain on deemed disposal of 17,601.26 lakh recorded as an exceptional item in the quarter.
The reappointment underscores Texmaco’s push to preserve leadership continuity as it pursues growth across its Freight Car Division, Infra-Rail & Green Energy, and Infra-Electrical segments. Kamath’s background, combining deep technical know-how with long service at the group, positions the company to press ahead with its railway electrification agenda while navigating market uncertainties. Shareholders will deliberate the appointment at the upcoming meeting, but the move already signals a preference for stability at the helm amid a busy period of execution.
