In a move aimed at strengthening its governance framework, KEC International Limited’s board approved the appointment of Anant Vardhan Goenka as an Additional Director (Non-Executive, Non-Independent) with effect from November 2, 2026. The decision, taken at today’s meeting after a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, also notes that the Members’ approval for appointment to the Board shall be sought within three months, with the director liable to retire by rotation.
Mr. Goenka is the Vice Chairman of RPG Enterprises and serves on the boards of CEAT Limited and Zensar Technologies Limited in the same capacity. He has over 23 years of experience spanning CEAT Limited, KEC International Limited and Hindustan Unilever Limited, including a transformative decade (2012–2023) as Managing Director and CEO of CEAT, during which the company’s market value surged and it earned the World Economic Forum’s Lighthouse recognition and the Deming Grand Prize in 2023. Forbes recognized him as Next Generation Business Leader of the Year in 2017, while Economic Times–Spencer Stuart named him among India’s 40 Under 40 business leaders.
Beyond corporate accolades, Goenka has been acknowledged for leadership at industry bodies, including his role as President of FICCI and his previous chairmanship of the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association. He holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School.
On a personal note, he is the son of H. V. Goenka, Chairman of KEC’s Board, reflecting the growing involvement of the Goenka lineage in the company’s leadership and signaling a strategic augmentation to navigate the group’s next phase of growth.
